The hallowed turf on which the George Hotel now stands has been a hostelry for over a millennium. Once a pilgrim hostel and rebuilt in the 16th century as a coaching inn, it creaks as the weight of history bows its wooden ceiling beams (some of which are taken from galleon ships, dontcha know). The standard English pub fare food - nothing special then - comes with a complimentary fast wireless internet connection; just ask the friendly manager chap in the little office to sort you out with the WEP key. |
