Another icon of the city, the legendary floating venue the Thekla was part of many a Bristolian's youth with its regular club nights and gigs held in its grimy interior. Then a few years back came the facelift; the grunge was gone and the ice-breaking ship went upmarket, introducing a restaurant and an outdoor veranda on which to sup your Pimms. The spirit of the old Thekla lives on though; it's still a great live venue. Order yourself a Gem or pint of Weston's Organic and soak up the free wifi with the rest of them. |
